Simple DC Motor Commutator

This simple circuit is used to choose the direction of dc motor rotation. This circuit is realized by using four transistors TIP 31 that are arranged in the H bridge format, because its shape is like the letter H.

These four transistors (with the sequence 1, 2, 3 and 4 clockwise direction starting from the left) work in alternately manner. Transistors 1-3 and 2-4 are two pairs that work interchangeably depending on the position of the switch S. This switch S position will DC motor can be selected to make the rotation.

To keep the transistor cool, that is need to give the transistor a heat sink..
