Hall Effect Sensor
Hall effect sensor is a sensor that has
output voltage that varies to magnetic field. This principles is look
like in an electric generator. In an electric generator, when a
conductor is moving through the magnetic field perpendicularly then a
voltage will be generated at end to end the conductor.
In hall effect sensor, the moving conductor
is substituted by charge drift. This charge drift will generates a
voltage at end to end the media (usually semiconductor).

Figure of Principle of Hall Effect Sensor
Commonly, a Hall sensor is combined with
circuitry that allows the device to act in a digital (on/off) mode, and
may be called a switch in this configuration. So this sensor can be used
as a proximity switch that be applied in brushless motor, automotive
etc.
For example, the practical hall effect
sensor is A1302EUA-T
